Overview
Ms. Stillman focuses her practice on claims under the Defense Base Act, an extension of the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act. With more than a decade of experience as a licensed attorney, she is known for her diligent advocacy and innovative problem-solving, consistently achieving favorable outcomes for her clients.
Ms. Stillman's career began in claimants’ defense, where she developed a deep understanding of litigating and resolving complex workers' compensation cases. For the past several years, she has applied this expertise to representing insurance carriers, bringing a balanced and pragmatic perspective to her practice. Her experience includes conducting claimant and expert depositions, mediations, and advocating before the Office of Administrative Law Judges.
An industry speaker at national legal conferences, Ms. Stillman has addressed industry professionals on pivotal topics such as "Adjusters, Employers, and the OWCP," presented at the 2018 Workers' Compensation Institute Annual Conference, and "The Fee-Shifting Paradigm: Awarding Attorney Fees Under § 928," delivered at the 2023 Annual Longshore Conference.
Rebecca’s academic achievements include earning a bachelor's degree from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and a law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law, where she was a Dean’s Scholar and a member of Phi Delta Phi, the International Legal Honor Society.
Recognized by her peers and clients alike, Ms. Stillman has received accolades such as the “10 Best Attorneys” award from the American Institute of Legal Counsel (2018) and the Avvo Client Choice Award for multiple consecutive years.
